This Chocolate Covered Strawberry Green Protein Smoothie packs 5 servings of fruits and vegetables, plus 22 grams of protein into one delicious glass!
  • 15-20 ice cubes
  • 140 grams (about 1 cup) Frozen strawberries
  • 1 scoop Sunwarrior Vanilla Protein Powder*
  • 1 cup milk**
  • 2 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder***
  • 2-3 cups spinach or mixed greens
  • 2 packets Stevia, or liquid Stevia to taste****
  • Dash of Vanilla Extract
  • Pinch of Xanthan Gum (this is a must!!)
  • ½ teaspoon instant coffee granules – optional
  • 2-4 drops of Butter Extract – optional
  1. Place all ingredients in a large high-powered blender, and blend until smooth.
  2. Sometimes I have to stop the blender and scrape down the sides a time or two, and then restart it to make sure everything is blended uniformly. Every blender is different--do what you need to, to make your smoothie a success! ☺
  3. Sometimes I add a little water or extra milk to the blender if the mixture looks too thick. Add as much additional liquid as you need, to create your favorite smoothie texture!
*If you do decide to make this smoothie with a whey protein powder, the texture will be very different, and the smoothie may expand. You may also need more/less milk to reach your desired texture. Play around with the ingredients to find your perfect blend!

** Use your favorite type-but know that different varieties of milk behave differently when blended. I used Trader Joes refrigerated Unsweetened Coconut Milk in mine.

***I like to use 1 Tbsp. regular unsweetened cocoa powder and 1 Tbsp. dark cocoa powder in mine; use what you like the best!

****Use your preferred sweetener in place of the stevia; add more or less to reach your desired level of sweetness.
