Dark Chocolate Raspberry Protein Smoothie

Decadent dark chocolate and tart raspberries come together in an amazingly-healthy, protein-packed smoothie that's perfect for any time of day!
Ingredients
  • 1 cup crushed Ice
  • 1 carton Vanilla or Raspberry Yogurt (Greek, regular, or a Dairy-Free version all work well), slightly frozen*
  • ¾-1 cup Milk (Cow’s, Soy, Almond, Coconut, etc.- use your favorite!)**
  • 1 scoop Protein Powder (optional)
  • ½ cup Frozen Raspberries
  • 1 Tablespoon Unsweetened Dark Cocoa Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1-2 Stevia Packets, or Liquid Stevia to taste**
  • Pinch Xanthan Gum (about ⅛ teaspoon)**
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a high-powered blender, and blend until smooth. It may be necessary (even 2-3 times, depending on the type of blender you use) to stop the blender, scrape down the sides with a rubber spatula, add additional liquid or xanthan gum if needed, and then restart to complete blending.
  2. Enjoy!

Notes
*Freezing your container of yogurt for an hour or two before using it in this recipe will result in a much thicker, creamier smoothie consistency.



**Use your favorite variety of milk in this recipe! I always use refrigerated Unsweetened Coconut milk; the variety of milk you use will affect the sweetness and the thickness of the smoothie. I always recommend starting by adding the least amount of sweetener and Xanthan Gum to the blender your first time making this, and then partway thru the blending, stop the blender to taste the smoothie, and add more sweetener/xanthan gum/milk to taste.
